What is Melt Method?
You can reduce and eliminate the effects of stress on your body with this self care technique, Melt Method. This includes the stress of daily living like sitting at a desk, long driving commutes, vigorous exercise, bad posture habits, emotional distress and the normal aging process.
Sue Hitzman created Melt Method to empower the individual to take a major role in improving their own body wellness. With the minimum of 10 min a day, 3 times a week you can get rid of aches and pains, sleep restfully, perform exercise better and look many years younger.
There is a major system of fascia covering the entire body just under the skin. The fascia system is connected to the autonomic nervous system, this connection is what's missing from modern approaches to health and fitness. This system is intelligent, it balances you, protects you and stabilizes you constantly without you ever having to think about it. Fascia needs to maintain fluidity to function properly. Normal daily stresses cause the fascia to become dehydrated. The Melt Method technique hydrates the fascia, bringing it back to a fluid state so that it can properly work with the nervous system and keep you balanced, protected and stabilized. In other words, you're less likely to lose your balance and fall, you're less likely to have sagging skin, and less likely to have insomnia among many other things.

What is Assisted Stretching?
Assisted stretching is having a certified practitioner do hands on stretching. The practitioner will hold your body in stretches, sometimes the person being stretched will have have use a little muscle resistance to help increase range in a specific area.
In each session I will do assessments of fascial nets of the body (these are like "lines" of connective tissue to allow the body to move in all directions). Assessments such as touching toes, side bending, & torso twist are used and can really help determine asymmetry in the body. If needed an overhead squat assessment can be used as well. I will stretch the tight areas that showed up in assessments and also any specific area you, the client, want stretched. The assessments won't need to be done every session, over time the assessments once a month will show your progress
The stretching will include static stretching and PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) stretching and sometimes perpetual movement stretching (undulating movements through a joint’s range of motion).
Since progress can only be made by consistent effort and practice I will also suggest 1 or 2 stretches for each client to do at home as well. Stretching at home is must to actually change your flexibility and mobility.
